Studies have repeatedly shown that states that pass Shall Issue concealed carry laws experience a reduction in murder rate.
This has been the case for all 41 states that have Shall Issue or equivalent.
Maryland is not one of those states yet. If Maryland were to pass Shall Issue legislation, we could save about 41 lives per year.
Why, then, do Maryland lawmakers repeatedly refuse to pass such a life-saving measure? Why do they perpetuate our current system, which places a higher value on cash than on the lives of our children?
